JOHN CASTRO COMEDY MC MAGICIAN PERFORMING IN LAS VEGAS!
Born in Seattle, Washington John came from a family of 5 brothers, raised by their mother. John’s Mother was from Sweden and his father was born in the Philippines. When his parents died and their home was taken by the State for medical debts, John decided to take every ones advice and move to Las Vegas. He started developing his Entertainment skills from the young age of 7 when he learned how to make bird sounds and found that he was the center of attention. This is when John realized why he loved to perform for large crowds. At the age of 10 years old John would go fishing under the Piers downtown on the Seattle waterfront with only a drop line (a poor man’s pole) catching fish to sell to the Farmers Market and the Philippine Restaurants. John would also sell produce to and for the farm vendors. He drew large crowds with his energy and entertainment talents. John worked in exchange for food, bus fare and change. He was motivated with a never give-up attitude. John always found something creative and fun for everyone to be included in. He has an ability to make people around him who are struggling, Happy and Smile!
John learned to play a Harmonica in the Army where he was stationed in Vietnam for 2 years. After the Military he went to College to take Music and Entertainment courses. Later John became a professional Harmonica playing Bellman at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Restaurant for 4 years. A few years later he had a daughter that followed in his footsteps going into the Entertainment business in L.A.
In 1984 John met a professional Magician in Las Vegas. He asked John how he made his Bird Sounds and whistles without using any fingers. He told John he would trade his Magic Secrets with him in exchange for lessons on how to make the Bird Sounds. Following John’s training he began his new career as a Comedy Magician Entertainer. John first started with small Birthday Parties. As John progressed he put together new routines and perfected them for Event Planners, booking Agents and large Corporate Events.
John has performed over 5,000 strolling and stage shows in 25 years. John’s Venue includes performing for Fairs, Schools, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, TV, Corporate, Radio, Coliseums, Casinos, Cruises and Stadiums. Castro’s High Energy Interactive Comedy Magic Act with music holds the crowd with fun and laughter. What separates John from other entertainers is his powerful Emcee Voice and unique Million Dollar Double Jointed Smile.
Currently John Castro lives in Las Vegas. He is the Opening Act for BEATLESHOW TRIBUTE in the V Theater at Planet Hollywood 7 nights a week and does Strolling Magic for the audience before there Show. He did Strolling Magic at Trader Vic’s Planet Hollywood until they closed, also performing on Stage with the Bands as an Emcee with Harmonica, Songs and dance. He is an active member of Boomers Magician’s Club in Las Vegas.
